so, see two posts down... things i will do... item number two. go out with jes. accomplished. i think that might be the last thing on my list of things to do. all i can say is WOW. that was the most fun i've had in quite some time. so let's recap the "date."
first off, it wasn't really a date per se. We have a business relationship, and I think it was nothing more than a business get together. She works for a label, I work at Championship Vinyl here in Chicago. Nothing wrong with us having dinner... happens all the time.
But fate, I believe had other things in store this evening. We made plans yesterday. Today she calls and says she has to pick up one of her artists at the airport at 9, so dinner at 6:30 was going to be just that... dinner. Of course, it's raining and lightning... the weather is bad. Just as dinner is wrapping up, and she's about to head to the airport, her artist calls and says their flight was re-routed to louisville, kentucky and they don't know how long they're going to be, so she needn't worry about picking them up. All is well, and a celebratory drink is had by both of us. That drink turns into two and then three... and then, eight hours after arriving at The Room, the evening finally commences. I'm giddy. Not because of that longing for female companionship that I've seeked out for so long and not becuase dinner and countless drinks were on the house, but because she is soooo kick ass. It was nothing more than dinner and drinks. No kissing, no S E X, no nothing. Just two people having a great, great, great converstion for hours on end.
I think the feeling was mutual. Neither one of us went into this with anything, but I think we both came out with something. We both agreed that we had a great time and that we would see each other again soon.
More details later perhaps... it's a bit complex, but nothing that can't be overcome.
Oh, and I got really shitty service at The Room. Note to self, don't take someone to the place your ex-girlfriend works at because she won't like it and will treat you accordingly. Not to mention how affectionate she'll be with her new beau, all the while looking at you making sure you're seeing it all. Doesn't matter. Tonight was too good.
Big smiles all around.
